I love this quote from C.S. Lewis, “There are far, far better things ahead than any we leave behind.”
It’s hard in the moment and sometimes for a while to say goodbye to those old things but after a while you become thankful that you made the decisions that you did. I am thankful that I’ve said goodbye to some good things in my life in order to make room for better things.
I’ve been called to greatness (so have you!) and becoming great means you have to be willing to make sacrifices. I want my heart to always have a posture thats willing to make sacrifices if it’s going to take me to more intimate levels with the Lord and if it’s what he has for my life.
I always want to be willing to leave things behind in the right season and to walk towards whats even better.
Psalm 119
1-8 You’re blessed when you stay on course,
walking steadily on the road revealed by God.
You’re blessed when you follow his directions,
doing your best to find him.
That’s right—you don’t go off on your own;
you walk straight along the road he set.
You, God, prescribed the right way to live;
now you expect us to live it.
Oh, that my steps might be steady,
keeping to the course you set;
Then I’d never have any regrets
in comparing my life with your counsel.
I thank you for speaking straight from your heart;
I learn the pattern of your righteous ways.
I’m going to do what you tell me to do;
